		<description>Moonglow
Book CoverA speculative cover for Michael Chabon’s Moonglow. Chabon is one of my favourite authors, and his stories always inspire me to create artwork based around them. This particular book follows the life of his grandfather, told in a non-chronological order and occasionally jumping towards the end of his, recounting the conversations he had with his grandson.

		<description>DoppelgangerBook Cover

A speculative book cover for Naomi Klein's Doppelganger. This was a much more design-based project, the only real illustration work being stray doodles of Superman while I was working out ambigrams. I've always wanted to do an ambigram for a cover, but never found a suitable book until now. This book is an investigation of the various kinds of doppelganger we have in our modern world, framed through the lens of Klein's own doppelganger—a former feminist writer turned conspiracy theorist. It's a fascinating read that I'd highly recommend.

		<description>Clark Kent Dies at Dawn!
Book CoverA speculative cover for a speculative book.

For this one, I was inspired by the pulpy books you'd find in a train station in the 50s and 60s, so I've broken a few of my normal rules for design - such as the lack of a barcode and splash text on the front cover - but I had fun doing it.

I decided to give Jerry Siegel the byline for this one, considering he (and Joe Shuster) created Superman.

		<description>The City &#38;amp; The City
Book CoverA speculative book cover illustration for the China Miéville book 'The City and The City'. I wanted to represent the cultural and architectural differences of the two cities. I chose to represent Besźel—a city down on its luck, abandoned by its allies—with sketchier pencils and more classical, late 19th century style architecture. Meanwhile, Ul-Qoma—a city on the rise, with plenty of foreign investment—is represented with blueprint-like, digital linework and skyscrapers reaching off the page.

		<description>The Martian
Book Cover

A speculative cover for the Andy Weir book The Martian. For this cover, I wanted to represent the isolation of being 140 million miles away from home, and to illustrate something much less complicated than my Three Stones Make a Wall cover. I'm pretty happy with the results! The Martian is a very enjoyable book that manages to combine hard sci-fi with an easy-reader tone full of humour and hardship.

<description>The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay
Book CoverA speculative cover for one of my favourite novels of all time. Michael Chabon’s telling of the story of two young comics creators in the Golden Age of the industry inspired me to blend my love of book cover illustration and comics into one image, creating what I hope is a unique and eye-catching cover that communicates the themes and plot points of the book in an intriguing manner.

		<description>Capitalist Realism
Book Cover

For our first book cover project at Falmouth, we were given several books to choose from to work on. I decided to choose Capitalist Realism by Mark Fisher, which is about how our culture has trained is into believing that there is no viable alternative to modern capitalism, and how it has removed our ability to even imagine a different, fairer world. Though digital, it was designed to resemble lino printed artwork, using only the colour red to give off the effect of it being made by a small, socialist press.

		<description>Daisy Jones &#38;amp; The Six
Book CoverA speculative cover for Taylor Jenkins Reid’s&#38;nbsp;Daisy Jones &#38;amp; The Six.

I originally had this concept for the Penguin book cover competition, however I didn't have the time to work on it so I left it aside. I liked the concept though, so I decided to revive and finish it at a later date.
